MIEYRA NIR/MIR

Miniature MEMS-based NIR spectroscopy for next-generation sensing systems.

NIR beta demo kit operational today.

Overview

Platform overview

PhovIR’s MIEYRA NIR and MIR sensors are being developed to deliver powerful molecular sensing in exceptionally compact semiconductor-scale packages. By analysing how materials interact with infrared light, they can reveal compositional information and help identify or differentiate substances without complex sample preparation.

Potential applications span biomarkers, polymers, pharmaceuticals, illicit drugs, explosives and gas mixtures. Combined with chemometrics and machine-learning models, spectral data can be converted into increasingly specific and actionable molecular information.

The ultra-small form factor brings capabilities traditionally associated with laboratory spectroscopy into embedded, real-world systems, including wearables, industrial equipment, robotics, and defence and security platforms.

Why it matters

Exceptional optical performance in a package small enough for wearable devices and airborne or terrestrial autonomous systems opens opportunities that have previously been impractical to implement.

Our platform has been designed for integration, scalability and volume manufacture, enabling partners to create entirely new sensing products.
